How do I select which birds appear on the wheel?

Click 'Show Settings' to open the bird selection panel. You'll see a grid of all available birds with checkboxes. Simply click on any bird to add or remove it from your wheel. Selected birds have a blue background and checkmark. The wheel updates instantly as you make changes.

Can I search for specific birds or habitats?

Yes! Use the search box in the settings panel to quickly find birds by name or habitat. For example, search 'forest' to find woodland birds, 'ocean' to see seabirds, or 'farm' to find domestic birds. This makes it easy to create themed wheels like 'Birds of Prey' or 'Tropical Birds'.

What bird species are included in the collection?

We have 50+ bird species including eagles, owls, swans, flamingos, penguins, ducks, parrots, peacocks, hawks, robins, cardinals, hummingbirds, and many more. Birds range from common backyard species to exotic tropical birds, raptors, waterfowl, and songbirds from various habitats worldwide.

How do I add my own custom birds?

In the settings panel, use the 'Add Your Own Bird' section. Enter the bird's name (with emoji if you want), habitat, and choose two colors that represent the bird's plumage. Click 'Add Bird' and it will automatically be selected on your wheel. You can add unlimited custom birds, from local species to mythical birds!

What are the quick selection buttons for?

The quick buttons save you time: 'Random 10' selects 10 diverse bird species for variety, 'Select All' adds every available bird (50+), 'Select None' clears your selection to start fresh, and 'Show/Hide Settings' toggles the customization panel. These buttons make it easy to quickly set up your bird wheel.

Why does the wheel start with 10 random birds?

To give you a great birding experience from the start! The wheel automatically selects 10 diverse birds from different habitats when you first load the page. This gives you a balanced mix of raptors, songbirds, waterfowl, and more to start spinning right away, while you can always customize it further.

Can I create themed bird wheels?

Absolutely! Use the search function to create themed wheels like 'Birds of Prey' (eagles, hawks, falcons), 'Songbirds' (robins, cardinals, finches), 'Waterfowl' (ducks, swans, geese), 'Tropical Birds' (parrots, macaws, toucans), or 'Backyard Birds' (sparrows, blue jays, wrens). Perfect for education or birdwatching games!

How many birds can I select at once?

You can select as many birds as you want! The wheel automatically adjusts the segment size and text size based on your selection. With more birds, segments become smaller but everything remains readable. We recommend 5-30 birds for the best visual experience, but the wheel works with any number from 1 to 50+.
