Frequently Asked Questions

How do I play Block Drop?

Use arrow keys to move and rotate falling tetrominoes (shapes made of 4 blocks). Fill complete horizontal lines to clear them and score points. The game ends when blocks reach the top of the playing field. Plan your moves strategically!

What are the controls?

Left/Right arrows move pieces horizontally, Down arrow provides soft drop for bonus points, Up arrow or X key rotates pieces, and Spacebar performs a hard drop for maximum points. Click or press Space to start/restart the game.

How is scoring calculated?

You earn points by clearing lines: 100 points for 1 line, 300 for 2 lines, 500 for 3 lines, and 800 for 4 lines (Tetris!). Points are multiplied by your current level. You also get bonus points for soft drop (1 per row) and hard drop (2 per row).

How do levels work?

You advance one level for every 10 lines cleared. Higher levels increase the falling speed of pieces and multiply your line-clearing points, making the game more challenging but more rewarding.

What are the different tetromino shapes?

There are 7 classic shapes: I (straight line), J (reverse L), L (L-shape), O (square), S (zigzag right), T (T-shape), and Z (zigzag left). Each has a unique color and strategic use in building and clearing lines.

How is the high score saved?

Your high score is automatically saved in your browser's local storage. It will persist even after you close your browser, allowing you to track your progress over time.
